While we were at basecamp, Negro and Bolivar would find local provisions to supplement our food supply. We had squash almost every day. One night, they brought a bucket of crabs. Bolivar mistakenly thought Susan was scared of the crabs. As a biologist who works as a zoo keeper, scared-of-crabs was highly unlikely. What disturbed her, however, was that Bolivar ripped the legs off the crabs for them to sit, delimbed, in the pot overnight.
