August 8, 2004: It turns out the start of the bike trail was just to the right beyond the slickrock parking area. This is what it looks like for much of Little Creek Mountain. There are broad expanses of exposed Shinarump. There aren't many landmarks, and the terrain is hummocky. It's VERY easy to lose your way. While there are lots of cairns, there certainly aren't an abundance of them. There were many times I'd have to stop and scan the country for the way to continue. It's important to follow the cairns, not only to avoid getting lost, but to negotiate around the unrideable sections. BTW--this is awesome riding!
